the very best acoustic music in the comfort of our living room

Summer is over, and it’s time to look forward to our FINAL HOUSE CONCERT—at least, at this address! After years of trying to align calendars, we are finally able to bring to you the spellbinding and well-traveled Sarah McQuaid. Sarah may offer up stories or songs from Ireland one minute, then slide into 1930s jazz or Appalachian mountain music the next. Her original material is gorgeous, too! Mixing of traditions comes naturally to Ms. McQuaid, who was born in Madrid, Spain, grew up in Chicago, holds dual American and Irish citizenship, and currently calls the West of England home. At age 11, she was touring nationally with the Chicago Children's Choir. At age 18, she studied philosophy for a year in France at the University of Strasbourg, where she also honed her performing skills. These days her double CD is gathering honors on best-album charts (including #6 on FolkRadio), and she was selected to showcase at Folk Alliance earlier this year.  Endangered Folk Singer alumnus Gerry O’Beirne produced her first two albums (now a double CD for the North American market), and is working on her next release as well. Whether you’re hearing her earthy, beguiling voice a cappella, or accompanied by her eloquent guitar, you’re in for a treat.

And as for the “final concert” business? We’ll be moving out towards the Dells in the next few months, to be closer to Cindi’s parents. We’ll still have a lovely concert space, including a baby grand, but it will be a bit of a hike for our Milwaukee friends! So if you’ve been on the fence about dropping by for a concert, don’t miss this one! You’ll be glad you did.
